Working with Chronic Illness – Improving Communication, Energy and Balance
Illness and work are more common now than every before. In fact, one in three people in North America work with a chronic illness or episodic disability.
These include chronic conditions such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, heart disease, arthritis, lupus, asthma, Crohn’s and colitis, mental health issues and many more.
Due to their invisible and unpredictable nature, chronic illnesses are often misunderstood. This, in turn, brings a high cost to individuals and organizations. In North America, the cost to organizations due to chronic health conditions is more than a trillion dollars a year and growing.
Decades of success – living and working with chronic illness
I haven’t just studied this topic I have lived it. Having been challenged my entire working life with chronic health conditions, I understand both the real and psychological barriers to being your best. I also worked for more than a decade as a manager – successfully leading high-performance teams and significantly increasing productivity in the demanding world of television news. I understand the need for results and how to get them.
In addition, our associates have years of experience in the disability field and are also specialists in engaging employees who act as caregivers to loved ones with serious health conditions.
