Become More Engaged in Your Career and Your Life

Having dealt with chronic illness issues for more than 30 years, I realize that we are not just affected by the physical impact of our illness but also our mental and emotional response to that illness. While our  physical illness is sometimes outside our control, our response is a choice.

At Sick with Success® we focus on the key elements of that response and the ways we can improve our work life, reduce our stress and allow us to live as productively as possible. These key elements are Communication, Energy and Balance.

Communication

Despite the fact that chronic illness is prevalent in our society its effects are still highly misunderstood, even by doctors. As a result, we feel unheard. Many of us simply give up – thinking that no one can truly understand what we’re going through. Sick with Success® will help you find ways to better communicate your needs and improve your relationships with bosses, managers, and the important people in your personal life. This helps you reduce stress and keeps you from wasting energy on negative emotions.

What we communicate to ourselves is important as well. By looking at our own experiences from a different perspective we can ditch our own victim-hood and give ourselves confidence to do more than we can imagine.

Energy

Chronic illness saps our physical energy. We may be in constant pain, or feel fatigued because our bodies just aren’t running their best.  When we get sick we need strategies to keep us from wasting energy while creating habits that develop strength and stamina – not just physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually as well.

Balance

When we become sick, the balance in our lives gets thrown off and as a result needs some adjustment. Just because your chronic health condition throws you out of balance doesn’t mean you can’t find a NEW balance that can be even more fulfilling.
