A couple months ago, I told you the story of Rob Hill, a man challenged by Crohn’s disease and an ostomy, who was been heading expeditions to climb the Seven Summits to raise money and promote the Intestinal Disease Awareness Society (IDEAS).
I am happy to announce that Rob successfully conquered the final summit, Mt. Everest, and returned safely earlier this week. Here’s a snippet of his video log.
It’s an interesting coincidence that my recent blog posts have focused on destroying the secrecy and stigma of chronic illness. A large part of Rob’s awareness campaign focuses on removing the social stigma of intestinal disease and ostomies. He has also shown that physical challenges are not impossible to overcome.
Congratulations Rob!
